Sometimes life gets busy and you don’t have the time (or espresso machine) for a full coffee setup. That’s where drip coffee bags come in. They’re the simplest way to brew quality specialty coffee wherever you are — all you need is hot water and a cup.
How to Brew
What you’ll need:
-
One drip coffee bag
-
200–250 ml of hot water
-
A mug, cup, or thermos
Step-by-step:
-
Boil your water, then let it cool slightly to about 92–95 °C — this helps avoid bitterness and brings out better flavour.
-
Tear open the drip bag along the dotted line and unfold the side handles. Secure it over the rim of your cup.
-
Slowly pour your hot water over the coffee grounds, making sure all the coffee gets wet. You may need to pour in a few stages (filling the bag approximately 3-4 pours) so the water flows through evenly.
-
Once the water has fully drained through, lift out the bag. For a stronger cup, let it steep for up to about 2 minutes before removing.
What Makes Drip Coffee Special
Drip coffee delivers a cleaner, brighter flavour profile compared with other brewing methods because of the way the water passes through the grounds and filter, highlighting subtle notes in the coffee.
Why Not Just Use Boiling Water?
Using water that’s just off the boil helps prevent bitter compounds from being extracted. Letting the water cool for a short time after boiling makes a noticeable difference in how the coffee tastes.
Better Than Carrying a Thermos?
Freshly brewed coffee always tastes better. When coffee sits in a thermos for long periods, it can start to taste stale as it reacts with oxygen. With drip coffee bags, you get a fresh cup on demand, and because each bag is nitrogen-flushed for freshness, the coffee stays vibrant until you’re ready to brew.
Eco-Friendly Choice
Our drip coffee bags are designed to be fully compostable, making them a more sustainable single-serve option.
